Carlsbad High's girls varsity volleyball team fell 2-0 to Murrieta Valley in a neutral-site tournament match Saturday, Sept. 12, dropping the Lancers to 12-7 on the season.

The Nighthawks, out of Murrieta, improved to 16-5 with the non-league win. Set scores were not available.

Carlsbad went 1-3 in tournament play Sept. 3-4, beating Hawaii Baptist Academy 2-0 but losing to Clovis North (2-1), Dana Hills (2-0) and Beaumont (2-0), according to MaxPreps. The Lancers sit at No. 15 in the San Diego Section and No. 12 in Division I in MaxPreps rankings.

Carlsbad is scheduled to travel to Tucson to face unbeaten Mica Mountain (4-0) in a non-league match. A date has not been confirmed.
