Sage Creek's varsity girls volleyball team swept Rancho Bernardo 3-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 23, improving to 26-7 on the season.

The straight-sets home win was Sage Creek's 11th victory in its last 13 matches, according to MaxPreps. The Broncos dropped to 8-17 with the loss. Individual set scores were not available.

The Bobcats won nine straight matches through Saturday, Sept. 19, climbing into the CIF San Diego Section's top 15 before splitting two of their next four. Head coach D. Savage's squad now carries a 26-7 record into league play with zero conference losses on the ledger.

Sage Creek opens Avocado West league play Friday, Sept. 25, at Del Norte, with a 6 p.m. start. The Nighthawks enter at 11-6 overall after a 3-1 non-league win over Mission Hills High, according to the MaxPreps match preview.

The two teams have faced several of the same opponents this season. Sage Creek is 5-1 against common opponents, while Del Norte is 5-0.

In MaxPreps rankings updated Thursday, Sept. 24, Sage Creek holds the No. 12 spot in the CIF San Diego Section and No. 11 in Division I. The Bobcats sit at No. 119 statewide in California. Del Norte ranks No. 15 in the section, No. 13 in Division I and No. 160 in California.

After the Del Norte match, Sage Creek visits San Dieguito Academy on Monday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m. The Bobcats then host Mission Hills High on Friday, Oct. 2, visit Mt. Carmel High on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and host Rancho Bernardo on Friday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m.
