Sage Creek's girls volleyball team, ranked No. 7 in the CIF San Diego Section, takes on Imperial in a neutral-site tournament match at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11.

The Bobcats stood at 11-4 after the Hawaii Invitational, according to MaxPreps. They went 3-1 at the tournament Sept. 3-4, beating Camarillo 2-0, Southeast Career Tech of Las Vegas 2-0 and Roseville 2-0 before falling to Oviedo of Florida 2-0.

Sage Creek also holds a No. 6 ranking in CIF San Diego Section Division I and sits at No. 104 in California. The Bobcats have won 24 sets and lost nine on the season, per MaxPreps.

Imperial enters at 7-2 as of Aug. 31, per MaxPreps, and is ranked No. 20 in the CIF San Diego Section and No. 5 in Division II. The Tigers are also ranked No. 2 in the Yuma area.

Imperial outside hitter Maci-Jo Clayton leads the attack. MaxPreps lists Clayton with 24 kills and 14 serving aces per game, while setter Kendall Ramirez has 45 assists per game. Middle blocker Aryelle Lopez averages four total blocks per game, and opposite hitter Ryan Kelley anchors the back row with 24 digs per game.

The teams have never met.

Sage Creek and Imperial share one common opponent in Brawley; the Bobcats are 1-0 against the Wildcats.

The Bobcats opened the season with four straight wins, including a 2-1 comeback against West Hills on Aug. 21. A 2-0 loss to Steele Canyon on Aug. 22 was their first defeat. They rebounded with a strong stretch through late August before heading to Hawaii, where the lone loss came against Oviedo.

The tournament name and venue for Friday's match have not been publicly announced. First serve is set for 4:30 p.m.
