Carlsbad City Council members will deliver the 2026 State of the City presentation at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Council Chamber, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive.
The annual presentation will recap major city projects and initiatives from the past year and outline plans for the year ahead, according to the city's newsroom. Council members will give brief remarks before a video presentation, the North County Daily Star reported. After the video wraps, the regular council meeting will resume with its remaining agenda items.
How to watch
Residents who cannot attend in person have three options. The meeting will stream live on the city's website. It will also air on Spectrum channel 24 and AT&T U-verse channel 99. Recordings will be posted on the city's website and cable channel after the meeting concludes.
What else is on the Sept. 1 agenda
The city manager's weekly update shows the council will take up several other items once the State of the City presentation ends:
- A monthly report on how the city's investments are performing
- Amending an agreement to update the system the city uses for finance, human resources and timekeeping
- Accepting the Fiscal Year 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant
- Amending an agreement for updating the city's Drainage Master Plan
- The work plan and annual report for the city's Housing Commission
The grant, named for a New York City police officer killed in the line of duty, funds local law enforcement programs through the U.S. Department of Justice.
