More than 900 vendor booths will fill downtown Carlsbad on Sunday, Nov. 1, when the Carlsbad Village Street Faire returns for a full day of shopping, food and live entertainment.

The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce announced the date on X on Monday, Aug. 31. Gates open at 8 a.m. The faire wraps up at 4 p.m.

The twice-a-year event, held on the first Sundays of May and November, bills itself as the largest one-day street fair in the nation. The faire's official website says the event draws crowds of more than 100,000 and features shopping, games, activities, performances and a beer garden.

The faire fills several blocks of the Village, centered on Grand Avenue between Carlsbad Boulevard and Jefferson Street. The city of Carlsbad's April update ahead of the May 2026 edition described the event as featuring "more than 900 vendors, international foods, entertainment and children's rides."

What to know

The November faire runs one hour shorter than the May edition, which went from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both the Chamber's announcement and the Kennedy Faires event page list the Nov. 1 end time as 4 p.m.

For the May faire, the city provided free shuttle service from The Shoppes at Carlsbad at 2525 El Camino Real and from the Poinsettia Coaster Station at 6511 Avenida Encinas. Road closures covered Grand Avenue, Washington Street, State Street, Roosevelt Street, Madison Street and Christiansen Way. Official road closure maps and shuttle details for the November edition have not yet been released.

The Carlsbad Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, a longtime faire tradition, returned at the May event alongside BSA Troop 784, with proceeds going to local youth programs and scholarships. Whether the breakfast returns in November has not been announced.
