The Forum Carlsbad's annual Fall Art & Wine Walk returns with free admission, local artwork, wine tastings and a live cheese wheel-cracking demonstration.

The outdoor event runs Saturday, Sept. 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the shopping center at 1923 Calle Barcelona, according to Patch. Guests can browse art displayed at participating stores and restaurants and meet artists throughout the afternoon.

Donations collected at the Wine Garden will benefit Shelter to Soldier, an Oceanside-based nonprofit that adopts dogs from local shelters and trains them as psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress and related injuries. The organization also places emotional support animals with active-duty military members and veterans.

Nine wines from California, Oregon, Washington, Italy and France will be poured at the Wine Garden near YETI. Tastings are open to guests 21 and older.

Certified cheese professional Eric Meredith will crack open a full wheel of organic Parmigiano Reggiano, with samples offered after the demonstration. Mirabelle Charcuterie will serve bites alongside samples of Jimbo's Asparagus Parmesan Pistachio Salad.

Musician Freddie Walton will perform live acoustic sets throughout the afternoon.

Karis Ashton, marketing manager at The Forum Carlsbad, said in an Aug. 27 Patch article that the walk is one of the shopping center's favorite events for bringing neighbors together around local art.

Participating retailers hosting artists and activities include Anthropologie, Madewell, McConnell's Fine Ice Creams, Outerknown, The Henry, Warby Parker, YETI, Geppetto's and SusieCakes. Geppetto's will offer a create-your-own Lego buildable figure experience, and SusieCakes will host an edible painting demonstration.

Eight artists will display work in common areas, including Angela Palacios, Artisan Collective, Gather Wild, Inger Larson, Jessica Fuller, Joanna Barratt, Kelly Villasenor and Leticia Demeuse.

The walk is free. The Forum Carlsbad is at 1923 Calle Barcelona.
