Sandy Scott, a staff player for Carlsbad-based TaylorMade Golf, captured his second straight Korn Ferry Tour title Sunday, Oct. 4, winning the Compliance Solutions Championship in Owasso, Oklahoma.
Scott defeated William Sides with a birdie on the fourth hole of a sudden-death playoff at The Patriot Golf Club. He shot a bogey-free, 6-under 64 in the final round and finished at 24-under 256, the lowest 72-hole score of his career, according to the PGA Tour.
The victory followed Scott's win at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship in Columbus, Ohio, on Sept. 20. He earned $270,000 for the Compliance Solutions title, the Tulsa World reported.
Scott is only the second player this season to win consecutive Korn Ferry Tour events, joining Ian Holt, who won back-to-back titles earlier in the year, according to the PGA Tour.
The streak vaulted Scott to No. 1 on the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour Points List with 2,176 points. That ranking carries high stakes: the player who finishes the season atop the list earns exemptions into the 2027 Players Championship and the 2027 U.S. Open.
Scott, 28, grew up in Nairn, Scotland, played six seasons at Texas Tech University and turned professional in 2022. A career-threatening wrist injury in 2019 required two surgeries after he tore ligaments in his right wrist, BBC Sport reported. The injury flared again earlier this season, costing him two months.
"I was in some really low times and didn't know if I'd ever play golf again," Scott told Golf Channel after his Sept. 20 win, reflecting on the injury. "When I did come back from it in college, I had this overwhelming sense of perspective that I'm just happy to be out here competing."
TaylorMade Golf celebrated the win on X, noting Scott's last three starts produced a second-place finish followed by consecutive victories. TaylorMade, founded in 1979, is headquartered in Carlsbad.
Scott has already locked up a 2027 PGA Tour card. In 19 starts this season, he has two wins, five top-10 finishes and 18 cuts made, ranking second on tour in Strokes Gained: Total. His world ranking climbed to No. 127, and his career Korn Ferry Tour earnings stand at $1,086,911.
One event remains: the Korn Ferry Tour Championship in Glen Allen, Virginia. Only Scott and No. 2-ranked Ross Steelman are in contention for the top spot on the final points list.
